This world is full of Amazing stuff. I am dazzled by new findings & new clinical results every day. It’s an amazing feeling to make someone feel better, especially giving them relieve from disease. I recently experienced the magic of Aromatherapy on some chronic diseases. I ve been trying some aroma sessions for clients with Chronic Fatigue syndrome, before I share the therapy or the outcome. A little ‘gyan’ on CFS is required, so here we go.
As the name suggests Chronic Fatigue Syndrome suggests, this illness is accompanied by fatigue. However, it’s not the kinda fatigue we experience after a particularly busy day or week, after sleepless night or after a single stressful event. It’s a severe, incapacitating fatigue that isn’t improved by bed rest and that may be worsened by physical or mental activity.
People with CFS function at a significantly lower level of activity then they were capable of prior to becoming ill. The illness results in a substantial reduction in occupational, personal or social activities
Symptoms of CFS:
The fatigue of CFS is accompanied by characteristic symptoms lasting at least six months. These include
Effects of CFS
CFS can be as disabling as multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease etc. It’s often cyclic i.e. there are periods of illness & relative well-being. Some experience partial remission during the course of illness but symptoms reoccur. This remission makes the person tempted to overdo activities when they’re better, which can actually cause faster & worse relapse.
Now all written above tells you that CFS is a evil, a lotza people around us suffer from this diseases. The good news is that it’s treatment can be done easily by a simple aromatherapy—Lavender Oil, in different forms. Now , ‘gyan’ on Lavender oil.
Lavender oil contains the natural alcohol linalool; ketones; esters; and aldehydes. Linalol provides lavender’s antiseptic properties by effectively killing bacteria and viruses. Linalol also helps healing skin irritations including burns, wounds, acne and sores. The aldehydes in lavender are responsible for its distinct aroma and soothing properties. The ketones in lavender effectively reduce pain and inflammation and help induce sleep. The esters in lavender reduce soreness and swelling, prevent muscle spasms, fight fungal infections and prevent scarring. The esters in lavender also help relieve tension, depression and hysteria, and they help regulate moods.
Lavender oil used in a holistic therapy session including a massage, essential oil bath & aroma steaming can be beneficial in treatment. Also, Lavender addition to daily bath can work wonders of CFS.
I could only see the treatment results in ‘real’, when we were able to treat a lady off CFS by these session. Her joy of having an undisturbed sleep at night & that extra sparkle in eye was the real thing.
So, allow yourself to have lavender aroma session whenever fatigue sets in …
Enjoy your sessions
